Tri-ing to keep running!

First off, I want to start out today's post by saying, never forget 9-11. I was a teacher out in Mechanicsville, VA at Lee-Davis high school. I had just taken my 1st period class up to the library to work on a project when the librarian asked me if I heard what was going on, she told me and I then turned to look at the tv and it was just when the second plane hit. Needless to say the rest of the day was a little crazy!

On to my fitness side of things, I received an email from Clare at KZIA yesterday asking me to participate in a little "challenge" from Matt Hoover, the winner of season 2 of the Biggest Loser. The challenge is actually a triathalon in Fairfield, IA that Matt Hoover will be participating in.

I let Clare know that I would be willing to do it, the only problem is that I can not swim! So I will have to figure out a way to get threw that part. Here is the web-site that you can check out! Come and join us! SEI-Tri

I am finishing up week 8 of 9 of my Couch to 5k program, I am going to be running in a 5K in Burlington on Sept 18th. But I am still amazed that I can run for 28 minutes non-stop now, and next week it will be up to 30, I mean what is another 2 minutes at this stage of the game?

On a final note, go Iowa! Beat State!

TODAY'S WEIGHT: 293.8 lbs.
