I know that everyone says that you hit a wall, or plateau, at some point when you are working out, but I did not think that I would hit one so soon. I have been a little frustrated that for the last couple of weeks not much has happened in terms of my weight loss. I have been exercising, even increasing my length of exercises a little bit, but not much is happening.
As I look back over the last week or so, I think the main culprit is my eating habits again. During the first couple weeks of this challenge I was eating a lot of fruit and vegetables and smaller portions, but lately those "good for me" snacks have been few and far between and I have found myself dining out more and even raiding my daughters candy stash! So even though I am exercising better, I am sabotaging myself with the food I am eating. The good thing is that I am still under 320 lbs, but in my mind I should be lower than that.
I will be taking a vacation soon, which scares me a little. As with most vacations, the odd of a family eating out increases. I will not know where good places are to exercise at or if I will even get times to exercise everyday. I am going to try my best to reenergize and make better decisions.
One issue that I do not understand is why "health" costs a lot money. Why does it cost so much to sign up for a boot camp training session? If you want go to a gym to partake in this kind of training it can cost upwards of $300! When you want to updgrade your side at a restaurant it can cost up to $3 extra. I guess deep down I am a cheapskate and I can see why I got to the point I am in terms of weight. But it is time to get over this and realize that getting healthy does come at a cost, but it should be worth it in the end.
I do have a goal weight that I would like to get too to consider this a success, but it will not be the main goal of my journey. I just want to become more healthy so that I can run around with my daughter and enjoy many of the things I do not right now.
A SUCCESS: I wanted to try doing one of the tasks that the contestants on the Biggest Loser tried to do on the show, bike a marathon. So I did get on my recumbant bike and started on my trek. I biked away while I watched "Big Trouble in Little China" and before I knew it, I had biked for a total of 31 miles!

AN EMBARRASSMENT: I went to see Toy Story 3 with the family this weekend and I went to sit down in the seat, I barely squeezed into the seat, I was not sure that I would be able to fit into it. I then switched seat with my daughter and I fit fine in the new seat, so I don't know what was the problem with the first seat I sat in, but I was a little embarrassed by that moment.
TODAYS WEIGHT: 319.6 lbs.
